ScoutLink

ScoutLink is a global non-profit organisation which aims to connect scouts and guides worldwide. We provide a safe and supervised chatting environment for them, using the Internet Relay Chat (IRC) technology. Scoutlink is online 365 days a year and has created friendships around the planet. Our main event is JOTI and we enjoy connecting with new people each year.

About us

Scoutlink IRC consists of several servers throughout the world that are connected to each other. It was is founded to provide communication services for Scouts and Guides of all ages, faiths and nationaliities in a 'safe' environment.

Since the approval by the WOSM/WAGGS in 2006, Scoutlink is the official IRC network for JOTA/JOTI and visited by over 5000 users during this big event. ScoutLink Batch ScoutLink also houses several other, smaller, events like World Thinking Day on the Internet, Jamboree-talk, etc.

ScoutLink is organised in Country and Regional zones, which all have one co-ordinator and a deputy. Together they form Scoutlink's Global Council, which meets every month. The ScoutLink Council make the important decisions about the Network.

We also have a TechTeam that maintains the network, an #help team (HATT) to help out lost users and each language has it's own channel team. The channel team is formed of several Chanops, IRCop and one Coordinator and his or her deputy. Server wide there are also some Globalops. These are just like Chanops but they speak several languages and keep a server wide view of what's going on.
