Eggdrop is the worlds most used open source IRC bot[1], Eggdrops are usually ran on a shell and they come with their own installer. Eggdrops allow tcl scripts to be loaded which increase the bots functionality ten fold, scripts enable the bot to have games such as acro, uno or trivia, and other features such as channel protection, ban lists, weather scripts and much more.
In October 2011, the last of the 1.6 series of eggdrops was released. Development is now focused on the 1.8 release[2]
