ircd-seven is freenode's successor to Hyperion, they made the switch from Hyperion in January 2010.[2]. ircd-seven is based off Charybdis.[3]

The following features were added to ircd-seven from charybids:

  • Helper user mode (+h)
  • Hostslashes (merged into charybdis 3)
  • OPER propagation
  • Remote /mod* commands
  • /remove
