About blackcobalt

Originally founded as CNCNET, we have been providing simple, reliable IRC to our users for over 12 years.

Our focus is on security and reliability.

We provide complete encryption via SSL client connections and AES server links.

We run oftc-hybrid/bc, a modified ircd-hybrid-7 built on OFTC's oftc-hybrid-1.6.7 with a feature set targeted at smaller networks.

Servers

In traditional style, our servers operate their own fully-qualified domain names.

Available round-robins are irc.blackcobalt.net & irc.oppresses.us

European users may find they save a few milliseconds latency to uk.blackcobalt.net

The main page of http://www.blackcobalt.net always contains an up to date server list.

Webchat is also available via http://chat.blackcobalt.net
