mIRC is a graphical standalone client for Windows which is very popular[6] and Shareware-licensed[4]. The user may choose to pay for the program then but the client doesn't lose any of its functionality after the trial period. mIRC is often extended using its scripting language MSL or using dlls[7].

mIRC has its own scripting language called mIRC scripting language (or MSL) which can modify the client's appearance and also add new functionality.[8]
mIRC 7 beta
A public beta of mIRC 7.0 has been released and adds in Unicode support, among other new changes. The current version is 7.04 (as of 28th may 2010).
