WeeChat 0.3.4 was released in January 2011 and in the release a lot of bugs were fixed, along with a lot of new features<ref name="hp"/>

WeeChat is a standalone, text-based IRC client written in C,[1] first made public on 5 July 2003.[2] IRC protocol support is implemented as a module and also Jabber is supported, Twitter support is in progress.[1] Many scripts are available, the client features scripting in Perl, Python, Ruby, Lua and Tcl.[3]

WeeChat 0.3.8 was released in June 2012 [1]
