Introduction

Welcome, Geeks! I'm James aka Cyberclops, and I'd like to welcome you to my home.

We have plenty of rooms for you to enjoy. Some are specialised for certain interests, i.e. #Wii, #XBox, or #PlayStation. Others are general topics.

We are channel-linked with the JanusChat.net network. This means we can share our channels, and link to channels from other networks, but maintain our independance re:Services & Stats at the same time :)

We also offer free BNC accounts. What does this mean, I hear you ask? See #BNC? below

Robocop

Most of our network scripts and functions are run by our bot, Robocop. Upon registering a channel he will join, and sit quietly. Within an hour, your channel will become public (unless it is set as +s or +p) on our SneakPeek website which is auto-generated by Robocop. Click here to see it.

To see our server links list (also updated every hour) click Here

For your entertainment: Tut stats are kept and uploaded regularly by Robocop.

A new scheme we have just started, is our House scheme. Users are randomly selected to a House (Einstein House dedicated to Albert Einstein, Gates House dedicated to Bill Gates, Kahn House dedicated to Bob Kahn who helped introduce the original Transmission Control Program with Vint Cerf in 1974) and can earn points for their house by doing helpful things on the network, or have points deducted for joining another House channel (automatic) or by breaking network or channel rules. You can see the current House Points, each house's members + admin, and latest modifiers Here.

#TeksRadio The home of Tekmbster Radio

BNC?

Designed with those in mind who suffer from Ping Timeouts a lot (often using mobile broadband connections), those who want to keep their true connection address secret (even from the IRCops), and also those who want to be able to chat from their mobile phone/PDA/tablet AND PC/laptop using the same nickname *at the same time*!

We do this with an IRC 'Bouncer' or 'BNC', specifically ZNC (available to download from SourceForge).

An IRC Bouncer is a program that connects to your favourite IRC network and often maintains your presence* (including with Services). It also keeps your channel status (VoiceOP, HalfOP, OP, sOP, or owner) even when you're offline. Then instead of connecting directly to IRC, you'd connect to the Bouncer.

When you connect, your Bouncer will play back to you all the messages that have been sent to the channel whilst you've been gone. ZNC has an optional BuffExtras module which includes channel joins, parts, topic and mode changes.

  • By default, "PsyBNC" -- another well known IRC Bouncer -- is set to NOT maintain network presence when disconnected, although this can be changed in the config.

Janus

The following channels have been created and shared by users and staff on independant remote networks, and selectively linked via JanusChat.net (IRC-WIKI Page)

Channel - network prefix - channel owner(s)
#420friends - four20 - CannabisClown420/Rusty
#linkchat - jchat - D3M0N/D3/[D3M0N]
#stonersnet - stoner - ?
#Vamp_Inn - vamp - Cayne
