User Commands

REGISTER Register a nickname

  • /msg nickserv register password email


GROUP Join a group

  • /msg nickserv group target_nick target_password


GLIST Lists all nicknames in your group

  • /msg nickserv glist nickname


IDENTIFY Identify yourself with your password

  • /msg nickserv identify password


ACCESS Modify the list of authorized addresses

  • /msg nickserv access add or del mask
  • /msg nickserv access list


SET Set options, including kill protection

  • DISPLAY Set the display of your group in Services
    • /msg nickserv set display new-display
  • PASSWORD Set your nickname password
    • /msg nickserv set password new-password
  • LANGUAGE Set the language Services will use when sending messages to you
    • /msg nickserv set language number
      • Supported Languages:
      • 1) English
      • 2) Français (French)
      • 3) Deutsch (German)
      • 4) Italiano (Italian)
      • 5) Português (Portuguese)
      • 6) Español (Spanish)

  • GREET Associate a greet message with your nickname

  • KILL Turn protection on or off
    • /msg nickserv set kill on | quick | immed | off
  • SECURE Turn nickname security on or off
    • /msg nickserv set secure on or off
  • PRIVATE Prevent your nickname from appearing in a /msg NickServ LIST
    • /msg nickserv set private on or off
  • HIDE Hide certain pieces of nickname information
    • /msg nickserv set {EMAIL | STATUS | USERMASK | QUIT} {ON | OFF}
  • MSG Change the communication method of Services
    • /msg nickserv set msg on or off
  • AUTOOP Should services op you automatically.
    • /msg nickserv set autoop on or off


DROP Cancel the registration of a nickname

  • /msg nickserv drop nick


RECOVER Kill another user who has taken your nick

  • /msg nickserv recover nick password


RELEASE Regain custody of your nick after RECOVER

  • /msg nickserv release nick password


SENDPASS Forgot your password? Try this

  • /msg nickserv sendpass nick


GHOST Disconnects a "ghost" IRC session using your nick

  • /msg nickserv ghost nick password


ALIST List channels you have access on

  • /msg nickserv alist (nick) (level)


INFO Displays information about a given nickname

  • /msg nickserv info nick (all)


LIST List all registered nicknames that match a given pattern

  • /msg nickserv list pattern (FORBIDDEN) or (SUSPENDED) or (NOEXPIRE) or (UNCONFIRMED)


LOGOUT Reverses the effect of the IDENTIFY command

  • /msg nickserv logout nick (revailidate) Revalidate limited to services admins.


STATUS Returns the owner status of the given nickname

  • /msg nickserv status nick


UPDATE Updates your current status, i.e. it checks for new memos

  • /msg nickserv update


Optional Commands

CONFIRM Confirm a nickserv auth code

  • /msg nickserv confirm passcode


RESEND Resend a nickserv auth code

  • /msg nickserv resend


Note: These must be configured in the services.conf. These will NOT work unless the server hosting Anope has an email server running as well.


Oper Commands

SASET Set SET-options on another nickname

  • /msg nickserv saset nick option parameters


GETPASS Retrieve the password for a nickname

  • /msg nickserv getpass nick


GETEMAIL Matches and returns all users that registered using given email

  • /msg nickserv getemail nick


FORBID Prevents a nickname from being registered

  • /msg nickserv forbid nick (reason)


SUSPEND Suspend a given nick

  • /msg nickserv suspend nick (reason)


UNSUSPEND Unsuspend a given nick

  • /msg nickserv unsuspend nick


OINFO Add / Del an OperInfo line to a nick

  • /msg nickserv oinfo add or del nick (info)
